The cultural importance, technical skill, and its long history were often looked over, and are still often ignored to this day. People are quick to show off their hand embroidered vintage jacket or vintage funky knit sweater without acknowledging the long lines of women who have kept these practices alive and turned them into forms of self-expression for us to appreciate today.
